About Me

I earned my Masters Degree in Holistic Counseling Psychology at John F. Kennedy University, with a specialization in Expressive Arts Therapy. My career began as a preschool teacher. In this setting I used art, play and movement to help my students explore and learn about the world. I began to reflect on my own lived experience and recognized that my creative process had been like a light house, always guiding me home. I decided to combine my fondness for teaching, passion for art and love of psychology into a career. In my work with clients I pull from the creative lens of storytelling, self expression, visual imagery and spoken word to help you create your own roadmap back to yourself. **

I have worked with individuals and groups within inpatient/outpatient substance abuse treatment centers and hospital settings. With men and women who have been incarcerated, children and families within the educational system, and individuals of all ages within the private practice setting.

In my work with clients I navigate the murky waters of anxiety and perfectionism, the challenges of finding your own voice, the discomfort of facing biases, acknowledging privilege, and the difficult journey of accepting and finding a place for the wounds and early experiences that shape us.

**It is so important to remember that when we use art within the therapeutic setting, artistic skill are not necessary. It is about the process not the product.

"My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor and some style."
